How do you try to start them? task-lxde is only a placeholder, you would need to logout from your session and select LXDE as desktop session in login manager.
For gnome-weather, that is a applet for gnome AFAIR, you would need to start gnome for that. XFCE has its own weather applet.

I did that and lxde does not start. I have been using linux for more than five years now I know how to logout change the desktop environment and log in . And as for gnome weather I installed it on other distros and it launched easily and it did not pull the entire gnome desktop with ,just what it needs to launch . I need it in case i want to view the weather while I am using lxde or any other de, I think you should fix its dependencies .

Well, if you don't provide any log excerpts, how do you assume will others be able to guess remotely what's wrong ?

For gnome-weather, seems it's currently missing a dependency on gjs, you might need to install that manually.

Hi doctor5000 . Here is what I did , I reinstalled the system again, this time on ext4 . everything is stable now and and both lxde and gnome weather launched well . Perhaps btrfs is not stable for my decade old hitachi drive , even though I followed a tutorial available online. Sorry to bother you and great job top all the Mageia team for your hard work putting together a great distro .

You should check the SMART status on that drive.
And it would have been interesting to see the install log of the failed install.
