KDE system sounds

Postby papa33 » Sep 15th, '11, 19:17

Hello,

I had to uninstall pulseaudio to make things work in skype. Now my microphone is working, but...
I have no more system sounds in KDE (4.6.5)
I don't have any other troubles with sound, I checked everything in the system settings and it seems OK.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance,
papa

You don't need to disable pulseaudio or even uninstall it to get sound in skype working.
What Skype version do you use, how did you install it and what soundchip is that? Or what laptop model, if it is one?

Hi,

it is Skype 2.2.0.35 from the repository. My sounchip is "Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller".
I can get it to work in Gnome but not in KDE, unless I uninstall pulseaudio (so far).
What else could be done?
Thanks,
papa
