Hi,

Anyone ever installed openbios. I have an old toshiba with 2 gig of ram and a bios going back to 2004. From uname -r

What do you expect OpenBIOS to do ? I think you're mistaking it for something which it is not.

Things like OpenBIOS aren't something you install like any other software. They usually require In System Programming and flashing the new bios straight to the flash chip, something that can't be done casually.

For a better documented and widespread project check coreboot and libreboot.
