realtek usb wireless adapter recognized as scanner

Vendor: ‎Realtek

Description: ‎USB3.0 802.11ac 1200M Adapter

Media class: ‎

Connection
Bus: ‎USB

Bus PCI #: ‎2

PCI device #: ‎9

Vendor ID: ‎0x0bda

Device ID: ‎0xb812

Misc
Module: ‎unknown

When i do lsusb id codes match Bus 002 Device 009: ID 0bda:b812 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
internet search turns up correct description using id code.
How do i get MCC to recognize correctly?

MCC does only show unknown because there's currently no driver installed / loaded for it.
From what I can tell, you would need the rtl8812bu or rtl88x2bu driver and that is not packaged yet.
You would have to compile it yourself: https://github.com/cilynx/rtl88x2bu

I'd suggest to get a different wireless adapter.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!

forgot to mention yesterday i installed drivers as per
https://github.com/gordboy/rtl8812au-5.6.4.2
according to the model on the box and i will try your to see if it works.

You can try, but I don't think that driver supports your chipset: https://github.com/gordboy/rtl8812au-5. ... usb_intf.c
