[SOLVED] Nautilus on Mageia 7 canonot mount Google Drive

Postby hosadeeb » Feb 6th, '20, 06:50

Hi dear Mageia,
I wonder if I'm missing something in my installation that causes Nautilus not to mount Google Drive. I always receive an "Invalid credentials" error message.

Could you please point me in that respect?

Many thanks.

Dear hosadeeb,

Do you still have the same keyboard settings you had before? If not characters like è á and ( ) { } [ ] < will not be assigned to te same keys on your keayboard. The result is that will be very difficult to type in the correct password.

Greetings

Hi,
My keyboard defaults to English, and my password happens to use only letters and digits.

Is your keyboard, UK-Englsh, US-English, South Africa-English, Ugandan-English? There are many variants.

If you are able to get to your Google drive via your webbrouwser, you could perhaps change your password there. Google uses several means to determine your identity, your phone number for instance.

Google-drive-ocamlfuse has been updated with the latest kernel; do you have the latest versions?

If all this fails, I do not know what tot do.

Greetings,

Erik.

Dear Erik,
Thanks a whole lot!

First of all, I wasn't indeed talking about ocamlfuse, my post was about GNOME Nautilus native support of Google Drive, because it just works for me in two other distros, but not in my most frequently used Mageia (7 by the way).

I had tried using ocamlfuse a couple of years ago, compiling it from source, and I couldn't do even that back then. But, acting upon your suggestion, I was pleasantly surprised to find it existed on Mageia's repository, and it worked!!! So, many thanks again.

Well, I did. Though, to be honest, my initial problem was not solved indeed. I was pointed to a work-around, not a solution. But, anyway...

Same problem. Real solution: install gvfs-google.
