Installing steam orgin or uplay and set up SSD drives?

Hi its look like Mageia is a lot better than openmandriva.

But how did you set up:
Code: Select all
Disk /dev/sdd: 465,8 GiB, 500107862016 bytes, 976773168 sectors
Disk model: Samsung SSD 850
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: gpt
Disk identifier: 6337B6FF-AB5D-0C43-B41E-A88B77B67D7B

Device         Start       End   Sectors   Size Type
/dev/sdd1       2048 105472033 105469986  50,3G Linux filesystem
/dev/sdd2  105474048 113860641   8386594     4G Linux swap
/dev/sdd3  113862656 976773134 862910479 411,5G Linux filesystem

as a default automatcally setup? Only 50 GB to root and other sdd3 what did it usable for?

I also have issue with steam can not be installed:
How did you set up uplay or orgin in mageia with wine HQ?

Regarding the partitioning, that is the default partitioning. Depending on the size of the disk, you get 50GB for the / filesystem, swap and also a separate /home filesystem which uses the remaining space.
This makes the most sense from an admin point of view but also if you need to upgrade or reinstall, just keep the /home partition but do a fresh installation of the rest. Hope that answers your question.

Regarding steam, do you have 32bit (i586) repositories enabled? Sadly they are not enabled by default after installation but are required for some 32bit programs like wine or steam.
Also see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_7_Err ... stallation
You can enable/disable repositories via MCC as described here: http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/7/en/content/ ... edit-media

Its possible to extend ubuntu server:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/116351/ ... -installed

But how do you do it with mageia?
I have fixed issue with steam, its look its works perfect because its use home directory.
But installation instead that installing the rest need to be bigger than 50 GB i see i only have less than 10 GB left.

https://lutris.net/games/uplay/
I also have issue with that and ubuntu, so i guess mageia did not works very well with it? Its easy to install in wine but run games is hard did you have some idea how to get it works?

Please, only one issue per thread, that's one of the golden forum rules.
Regarding your question, it would be done the same way, no matter what linux distro this question would be about.

Regarding lutris, I don't understand what you're writing. You have an issue with lutris and ubuntu ... what does this have to do with how it behaves under Mageia?
What is your actual question here?

Well if you watch a howto for Antergos Linux maybe you should also use that with Antergos linux?
FWIW there are installation steps mentioned in AppDB for FarCry 5: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=36664
