ipv6 does not support BROADCAST matching

Postby nuit » May 25th, '19, 11:22

Hello to the whole community. Yesterday I tried to install Mageia on my pc and I had the following error during the startup after completing the installation. "ipv6 does not support BROADCAST matching" It's the only thing on the screen and I didn't know how to solve it. I'm a novice when it comes to Linux. So I went back to Windows. But the idea is to reinstall Mageia. If someone can give me instructions on how to install correctly so that I don't get this error, very thankful in advance. Best regards.

Hi there, it might help if you would add some basic information, like what Mageia version you installed, and what medium you downloaded (e.g. classic or live installation, 32bit or 64 bit and what desktop environment you chose).
If you did complete the installation, and see the normal Mageia bootsplash animation after a reboot during startup, and if you then only get a black screen, then this means the graphical server did not start properly, which is usually an issue with graphics drivers.
Then message you described about IPV6 or whatever is not related to that at all, it's just the last message during startup before the graphical desktop starts.
For the chipset error in your second post, it would help if you know exactly what it said.

You can find some hints at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_chang ... hic_driver and https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Setup_the_graphical_server
For now, you can select a safe driver like vesa, which should help you start the graphical server.

And please add some infomation what graphics card you're using, and what computer you're using ( vendor / model ).

Welcome nuit :)
If you want to try without installing, you could try a Live media, i.e load Mageia onto a decent USB flash drive.
