Clementine Could Not Read From Resource [SOLVED]

Postby CRIS925 » Jan 1st, '16, 12:04

I just installed Clementine from MCC, but when I tried to stream some music from the internet a popup came up saying, "Could Not Read From Resource". What does this mean, how to I get it to stream music?

just installed Clementine,

chose "rockradio.com" as an internet feed - works fine.

which feed is not working for you?

Have you enabled "tainted" media and upgraded to Tainted Audio Multimedia Codecs?

I'm trying to connect to my Soundcloud feed, tainted audio and video codecs are already installed, but I'm not sure if they're enabled.

I can stream from all of Clementine's radio options and from magnatune, but I can't stream from soundcloud or mixcloud and I can't add streams either.

These are not functions that I have needed to use in Clementine.
Perhaps some-one who uses those functions may be able to assist you more, sorry

There are a lot of issues reported regarding soundcloud integration. Most of them are back from 2014 and closed, however there is a recent one which points to an API change in soundcloud: https://github.com/clementine-player/Cl ... ssues/4847

Maybe you should search at clementine for a solution.

Well I'm still very new to all of this open source stuff and so I don't understand the instructions given on that site. In anycase it doesn't matter because I was able to get it to work with Spotify.

in this specific report are no instructions. It's only saying that soundcloud changed their API (the connection "protocol" how clementine can access the data from soundcloud), so that clementine cannot stream anymore. A solution is not given, yet.

At least good to hear, that you have found a workaround which is working for you...
