Why is this NOT the same as when the install remove programs asks for root password? Because as I stated in prior posts, all the other distros, once you say iinstall and put in root password, it installs. I never actually to go all out root to install before, in fact I had been informed not to do so. To always install as user and enter root password when needed.

Because it is simply not the same "install remove program". It's a commandline tool intended for the administrator only,
so this is the same as with other distros. Also no need to create a new menu entry for a root terminal, simply run su - to switch to root.

Hİ! I' ve read all posts from beginning but can not really understand what was the main problem. Does task-mate conflict with mate-settings-daemon-gstreamer or you' re trying to install task-mate from console without root permissions?

task-mate should not conflict with mate-settings-daemon-gstreamer thus it is not listed as a conflict in the package. Also if this is the case, then it is really weird that you' re the only user that encounter this and if you don' t mind i ask you to open a bug report. I' ll look into this as MATE packages maintainer. Thanks in advance.

NOTE: I' ve noticed that misleading package summary about mate-settings-daemon-gstreamer. Also, please open a bug report for this.

Well, as he did not post the output of urpmi --debug we'll probably never know :/
And as it worked on my box without issues, conflicts or whatever, maybe some other packages were involded or whatever ...

Actually I kinda did, see previous posts in the subject.
As stated, as user in terminal NOTHING. PERRIOD.
As soon as I ran it as ROOT, it then installed via the debug command, answered the 2 questions it asked, and wham it was installed. But ONLY after essentially becoming root. It should have installed after entering the root password when accessing the install and remove software in MCC. I then tried E17, anf it when in without using debug or any problems.
So, like I said to tarakbumba in a pm, may be some glitch that happens in the the meta package or during the install process being there a essentially 2 variables in it, either ALSO or PulseAudio.I know several of the previous distros I tested never had that in their installer for MATE.

No you didn't provide the output - command not found is only an error message - and that is also more then "nothing".
As mentioned, urpmi will not ask for your root password, this is working as intended - no glitch, no variable, no whatsoever.

Apart from that, please refrain from using uppercase, that is considered shouting and disregarded. This was the last friendly reminder.
