[SOLVED] 3G connection problem

[SOLVED] 3G connection problem

Postby nightshadow » Dec 12th, '13, 23:40

Hello there,

I've installed Mageia3 Linux today(been using mandriva in the past). Then I tried to add a new connection, a 3G one.
The problem is when I get to the screen where I need to enter my PIN for a new connection.I don't have a PIN for my connection, so I left that blank, and pressed next. Then, it says 'Configuring network', and after 3-4 secs, it puts me back to the screen for entering PIN code. And it goes round and round like that, it's impossible to get further.

I'd appreciate any help.

Regards,
Darko.

Can you please try as described in viewtopic.php?p=29981#p29981 and post the results here?

this is the error, have you checked if the SIM is in the device?

Well, the other device nodes seem to suggest there is a SIM but failed to register to network:

[root@localhost nightshadow]# comgt -d /dev/ttyUSB3
SIM ready
Waiting for Registration..(120 sec max)
Registered on Home network:
Failed to register
[root@localhost nightshadow]# comgt -d /dev/ttyUSB4
SIM ready
Waiting for Registration..(120 sec max)
Registered on Home network:
Failed to register
[root@localhost nightshadow]#

Installed GNOME now instead of KDE, and it works fine.

Looks like this bug is 'ported' from KDE version to GNOME version now aswell.
I have had no problems with M3 with GNOME, but with M4 GNOME I have the exact same problem like first time on KDE.
I cannot connect to internet with my 3G modem, it just won't pass that 'PIN Enter' thing.

I would appreciate any help, I cannot use Mageia because of this.
