can't understand the power managment

Postby cyrilalto » Oct 10th, '13, 11:24

I'm new at mageia. I used befor some linux systems of ubuntu family. I like the mageia's way of kde. Even I was every time cold in mind about kde, now I think this is a best way of desctop enviroment. The problem I meet is about power manage. I use two accounts. One for me and one for my wife witch is started by defoult. If I will not log out of my wife's account, and will start a new session with my account then I will not able to change power settings, even can't change the britnest of display. This is possible only in some one account but not in two. Please help me to solve this point. Thanks!

Please don't cross-post or double-post, that is disregarded. I've merged your second thread into the existing one.

Thank you doctor5000. I didn't wanted to duble post. I didn't found how to delete my first post. I can't even find a properly subforum where I should move my post. Any way I don't know how to move my post there. I will look for that at home, not from a sellphone. But if you will help me to find properly subforum I will thankfull to you. I don't have an experience with forums. Thank you.

I've moved it to the proper subforum and merged the new thread in the existing thread.
Normally all questions not related to one of the subforums about printing, networking, video or sound should be put in basic support: viewforum.php?f=6

I'm assuming you're using KDE. Are there any error messages in System Settings -> Power Management? It's likely to be some permission issues, but I don't know much about how it works.

Yes, I'm using KDE. There are some message. You can see it on the pictures. But if I'll log out another user, witch is running simultaneously the settings will be works all right. If I'll then start a new session-user, inside new user will be the same error. The point is I would like to change the screen brightness when both users are log in. Now I have to log out from one of them for that goal.

Then please report that as a bug, after searching if it hasn't been reported yet already: https://bugs.kde.org/
