log in screen

Netflix just wasn't working for me. (I can't even access the netflix webpage) So, I unistalled Wine, zenity, and firefox. and rebooted, in an effort to start afresh. And this is where the oddity began. My Login screen had changed. It opened with a box saying (Welcome Local User) asking for my name and then password. It then took me into something called "Ice" I think. Which is very nice, simple and straight forward, but I like the bells and whistles of KDE... but, KDE was gone. I Had to completely reinstall it with the install program. How it got removed I don't know. But I have it back now. Yet, I am still stuck with that (new) login screen. I would like to return to the old one, That had the little icon head that you clicked on, filling the user name box and then you entered your password.

After you have shaken you head in bemused wonder, can you help me do this?

Then I'll go back to fiddling with my Netflix problem.

Thanks

Nic

The login screen is called the display manager.

You can choose from any of the installed display managers.
The wiki explains it all
