I am running Mageia 3 and would like to know how to set the screen to lock after a certain length of time.

In KDE use System Settings - Display & Monitor

Hi
if you are using KDE
click on system setting icon [ crossed spanner and screwdriver ].
In the hardware section
choose "display and monitor ", choose screen locker and set as required
if you are using KDE
