I enjoy sharing knowledge with the community and I believe these webinar videos are a great way to do just that Some people like to see the process with their own eyes instead of reading through a guide so here we go. If you use KDE and don't recognize my desktop i'm simply using LXDE because it runs much faster with the laptop i'm using when i'm pushing it to its limits

Video Notes
Run the following command as root user (type su in terminal then your root user password).

Code: Select all

mgaapplet-upgrade-helper --new_distro_version=3

Reboot your computer and select the "Mageia 3 Upgrade Preparation" boot option.

FWIW, next time maybe you could use a standard shell, that custom zsh thingie at the beginning may be a little bit distracting for novice users ...
Or maybe just cut it out from the screencast, no need to redo the whole thing
