Can't boot MGA3-RC-LiveDVD-KDE4-x86_64-DVD.iso from USB key

Postby tom_ » Apr 28th, '13, 22:04

booting with the default command line I can see the first two MGA screen
(with one and 2 point over the caldrun) and then a blank screen,
no way to have a console

booting without additional parameters on the command line and selecting NO_ACPI,
I can see the boot procedure on the console,
it stops after these lines:

[FAILED] failed to start wait for plumouth Boot screen
[OK] Reached target multi-user
[OK] Reached target Graphical Interface

going on a different screen have a console,
in jounalctl I can read
systemd-readahed: "Out of memory" (in red)

but free -m says I have still 3GB free

My vga is an Intel card, these are the details from MGA2

Code: Select all
tom@localhost Desktop]$ lspci | grep -i vga

a second temptative:
booting with the same usb key,
pressed F6 (strange, the highlighted line from run become 'install'), then removed all the params
from the command line and added 3 to start in text mode

After the boot I can have a working konsole,
drax11 suggests me the right intel graphic card but the test fails
(no screen), the I choose xorg-vesa and succesfully started the DM.

the GUI made me a few question about license, keyboard, language etc..
then I had my desktop

running MCC, I can still select my graphic card but the tests fails
