Installed Beta 3 from 64-bit full 4GB DVD. KDE desktop.
Sometimes, but not always, when I attempt to resize a window in a hurry, the mouse pointer changes to a double-arrow (<=>) and the desktop freezes and the mouse becomes unresponsive ... sticking to the window edge still showing the double-arrow.
Once it gets to that stage, one of following brings it out of the freeze:
- A removable media insertion
- Physically connecting/disconnecting RJ45 to Ethernet
- Pressing the power switch of the PC
- Waiting for about a minute or two pondering it I should reset the system.
Noticed this problem in 64-bit Beta 2 as well. After a few repetitions I noticed if I wait a just a little bit longer before dragging to resize, I can avoid the problem. When I position the mouse pointer over the window edge, it takes a little while for pointer to change from a standard arrow to a double-arrow. And then if I drag, no problem. If I don't give the time for the double-arrow to show up, it almost always freezes.
On a lightly loaded system this problem does not show. It is when I have 50% load like multiple DVD reads or heavy I/O, I see this problem.
Thanks.
