update of 1772 packages has broken my mga3 beta

ok heres the hardware

nforce 3 chipset on asrock am2nf3-vsta board phenom 965 4 gig ram.

geforce 6800GT

origionaly installed about 2 weeks ago from beta CD and them followed imeadiatly buy updates.

stable at this point, with a few minor cosmetic issues.

today 1772 updates and now boots into grub menu.

ok trying my usual aproach of an upgrade with the mageia 3 beta1 cd to fix boot block but the installation keeps failing because

lib64gamin is obsoleted by installed newer version.

this has NEVER been a problem in the past, with an upgrade to fix a boot loader issue, why is the installer refusing to just accept that the newer version is installed and just move on.

booted into rescue, rescue unable to recover boot loader

mounted filesystem and went into /mnt/boot/grub

menu.1st ZERO bytes, been trashed by upgrade.

coped back menu.old

now it boots.

ok still a problem X wont start keeps having an issue with ld.so.1

tried drakconf to change graphics driver to vesa or neuveu or nvidia but just failed with errors relating to ld.so.1.

so install is now stuffed and requires re-install from scratch to fix.
