[SOLVED] Using Webmin with MariaDB?

Postby Will94 » Jun 28th, '12, 18:19

I know next to nothing about DBs, and I would like to keep it that way. In the past, when I needed to create a MySQL user or a new DB, I would do it through Webmin. However, there isn't a MariaDB module available. Is there a way to get Webmin to work with MariaDB?

Thank you,

MariaDB is identical to MySql in its configuration. You can use the MySQL module in webmin to configure it.

However you should be aware of Bug 3444

In particular read comments 4 to 8

Thank you for the information. I wasn't seeing a MySQL module either. What I did, and now that I think back I think I did this with Mageia 1 as well, was:
Code: Select all
cd /usr/local
mkdir mysql
cd mysql
ln -s /usr/bin bin

With this symbolic link, all of the file locations are correct, and the MySQL module works.
