Does anyone use Krita?

Postby CaptSilver » Jan 22nd, '12, 08:20

I cannot get Krita to work. Here is the bug report that matches the description I have.

https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3859

I find it hard to believe that more people do not use Krita, so are there any suggestions to get it working?

Hi,
KDE let Krita drop (and the whole Koffice) to develop KDE4. The project has been taken over by Calligra, but I agree, Krita doesn't work any more.

Er, no. KDE didn't drop Krita and KOffice to developer KDE4. The KOffice project split between the KWord maintainer and the rest of the team, and in some weird way, the KWord maintainer was allowed to keep the KOffice name. The rest formed the Calligra project, which is still part of the KDE project. And development of Krita has never stopped during the transition to KDE4.

That aside, these bugs are packaging bugs -- Krita works fine, when bundled with the right llvm and opengtl. Which versions that are for Mageia, I don't know.

Would you mind to share which right versions of llvm and opengtl that would be? Mageia 1 currently has llvm-2.8 and opengtl-0.9.15 (and 0.9.15.1 as an update candidate)
