[SOVED] Yacy on Mageia

Postby brandy » Mar 6th, '15, 17:09

Hi!

I want to use Yacy as search engine.
I downloaded the package, started Yacy and after my internet provider opened all ports I was able to forward port 8090 to my computer.
So I was part of the network and could offer indexed pages.
Everything was working fine.

After restarting the computer on the next day the opposite happened.
Since then I haven´t been able to get the thing run.

I tried to reconfigure the virtual server (port forwarding) on my router.
I tried it with uPnP.

My provider also confirmed, that everything is fine from his side.

My questions are:
Could it be, that Mageia don´t like incoming connections, and I have to change something?
How can I check that the port and the portforwarding are working?

Thanks a lot!

Check that port is open in your computer firewall settings and also check the journal, which may give you more information on why it is failing.
I'm not familiar with Yacy but it may keep it's own logs too.

[SOLVED] Yacy on Mageia

Yeah, you got it...
Thank you very much...

I go to the MCC -> Security -> Personal Firewall and added these two "8090/udp 8090/tcp" at the advanced options.
Now everything is working - I didn´t have to change something on the router!

Thank you very much!
