Mageia release 4 (Official) for x86_64
Kernel 3.14.18-desktop-3.mga4 on a Dual-processor x86_64 / \l

Hi, since a few weeks and the last updates, no way to have the firewall working normally :?
With the firewall off, all acces and port detected, with the firewall on, even with some exception port and some port open by the menu selection, none are open and detected thru an external scanning. No way to have an acces to any shared smb network (firewall problem), no way to open any port for external remote as HTTP remote or any others....and I don't want to let my firewall OFF. Any idea? Never had this problems before the last updates.

Thanks

Where did you configure the firewall? Using http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/4/en/content/ ... ewall.html ?
What did you configure exactly? Be more verbose, otherwise probably nobody can help your without further details.

It would also help if you at least describe your network setup including details on how you connect to the internet and what you mean by "external scanning" in particular.
Also e.g. for the samba or http/webserver access you should provide more details where this is running and what the source and destination is.

Apart from that, you mentioned

Does that mean it was working before "normally" and what do you mean by "normally"?

HI doktor5000,

sorry if I'm not enough explicit, english is not my main language.
I use drakfirewall to setup my firewall. Since a long time (mandriva) I was just addind the UDP and FTP port I wanted to be open and enable the one I would be open in the configuration menu.
Now, even if I put all the port open in the configuration menu one by one, and add the one I need, the SMB is not working (connection problem due to the firewall). The only way to have any port open and smb working is desable the firewall. Smae for all the other network communication. I wasn't like that before... I placed my first message. I did not change anything in my configuration berfore the apparition of this problem. (I remeber I had the same problem in Mandriva a long time ago... but, a few days after, the problem disappeared with an upgrade).

I hope I'm more verbose now.. ;)

Nope, you miss the important parts:

It would also help if you could at least show output of
Code: Select all
ifconfig -a
netstat -rn
iptables -L
