SOLVED missing media.cfg file after after doing a RPM .

Postby dedicated » Nov 7th, '14, 00:23

Hi
I had to do an RPM DB rebuild which appeared successful as I was then able to do a complete update, however attempting to add new
programs will not work as I get a " cannot find media.cfg file " error report and no further action. Aparently the media sources information is now missing and attempting to add sources or other information to the "configure sources" does not work.
Thanks for help!
dedicated.

Code: Select all
 urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist
won't work?

Saying thanks or even providing explicit feedback that issues are solved is not common nowadays :|

Having feedback that something works or not will help others when they face similar issue.
If things don't work, at least others seeing this will not waste their time.
That is the main point I like to make, not that we need appreciation.
I see you have helped countless times before and not getting any feedback too.

But keep it up, doktor5000. There are others (like me) who appreciate what you put up with (like me ;) ).

My main point was the feedback. I personally don't care if anyone appreciates what I'm doing here or if anybody is thankful or not.
If it helps that's my appreciation. So people should at least have the decency to say if the issue is solved and how it was solved.

The other point was just what I'm noticing from the majority of users. Demanding help seems pretty easy. Saying "thank you" seems really hard for most.
