Using libreoffice rpm (3.3.2 or 3.3.3) some calc files crashes. That occurs with some old files or with new ones. It is hard to analyse the circumstances. When a file starts to cause crashes it always occurs on opening. The only workaround I found was to download libreoffice 3.4.1 from the libreoffice fondation. After installation, the files which crashes previously are safely open and i did not observed any crashes. I noticed that kde integration do not work in this kind of installation.
I checked the "corrupted" files under a cauldron installation (using libreoffice 3.4.2) and i did not observed any crashes.
Did you observed such a problem ?

I got this log message after a crash :
27/07/2011 05:50:29 localhost kernel scalc.bin[3390]: segfault at 95 ip 00007ffb28a88d23 sp 00007fff27f07300 error 4 in libhunspell-1.2.so.0.0.0[7ffb28a77000+50000]

OK thanks, I also observed that libreoffice 3.4.2 on cauldron seems to resovle the bug. How to install it on mageia1 ?

It would be better to wait for a update.

You could setup cauldron sources in the package manager and install it. Be careful of any dependencies it wants and remove the cauldron sources afterwards.

I added comments to bug reports 2272 and 2010.

I installed LO 3.4.1 from LO foundation, so i can easily wait for an update.

I seem to have encountered the same problem. At beginning (Mageia 1 Beta 2), it's one of my old Calc ods files that crashed Calc every time I opened it. After I started using Mageia 1 (Final), it's another old ods file that crashed Calc instead of the first one. That's very strange...

I checked the last update of LO 3.3.3.1, that did not resolved the crashes.
I did an attempt of installing from cauldron LO 3.4.3 from mageia2 on mageai1.
It works and the crashes of my calc files were no further observed. That is clearly an easy workaround of this bug.

And remember: an easy workaround is completely different from a proper solution for this
problem, you need to look at this from a disto-wide perspective.

I already comment on this bug. My report is probably not the solution but can help to track the faulty file.
