[Solved] Difficulty (Failure) Installing Fotoxx

I trid to install Fotoxx and it failed with the following message:
"1 installation transactions failed

There was a problem during the installation:

perl-Image-ExifTool is needed by fotoxx-13.09.4-2.mga4.x86_64

unable to install package /run/media/pete/Mageia-4.1-x86_64/x86_64/media/core/perl-Image-ExifTool-9.270.0-2.mga4.noarch.rpm"


Also, why do I have to insert the DVD .iso I burned to install this distro every time I want to install something from the repos? I've never seen this before. Whatever is needed from the disk should have been put on the hard drive at install time (IMO). Thanks.

The CD/DVD repositories are kept enabled by default, to enable people without internet connection or low-bandwidth/traffic-limited connections to install software. To disable them see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Software_man ... ia_sources which also explains how to add a full set of sources and how to enable tainted and nonfree repos.

Also for many people copying over the complete contents of the DVD to the harddrive would waste quite a lot of space permanently. AFAICT no other distro does that.

OK, I think I got all the repos I'd need and I did then get Fotox to install. Everytime I start to think something is "stupid" I find it is just different than what I'm used to. I'm still exploring this OS and I'll try to put my other comments where they should go. I appreciate your patience and I'll try to maintain mine.
