ERST: Can not request iomem region

Postby boskoyevsky » Feb 26th, '13, 18:32

Hello,

I'm a relative new user to mageia and I was checking my dmesg for error reports. Can someone help me with this one:

Code: Select all
[    0.994418] ERST: Can not request iomem region <0x        bfeff000-0x        bff00000> for ERST.
[    1.040211] GHES: HEST is not enabled!

What does this mean, and is there action to be taken?

I have an acer aspire 7551G laptop.

Thanks in advance!

Probably due to some ACPI bug, normally those messages are only informational.
Related information, where a workaround may be needed: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20781_01/htm ... 65252.html
For the second line: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=143064

I'd not think about it any further, and just leave it be.
