Installing Braid Mageia2

Postby ethancello » Jul 2nd, '12, 14:46

I bought the humble indie bundle and downloaded the game Braid as an unusual file and can't quite figure out how to install.

"braid-linux-build2.run.bin"

this file won't sh in, and my system does not suggest any programs to open it in.
How can I install this on my system?

Danke schoen

check the permisions on that file

are the rwx-r-x-r-x

if not run chmod 755 braid-linux-build2.run.bin

now try to run it

this is whats usualy known as a shar file, its a self extracting shell archive (probably)

As Peter already mentioned, if executable permissions are set, just try either
Code: Select all
./braid-linux-build2.run.bin

or s
Code: Select all
h braid-linux-build2.run.bin

in the folder where this file is located.

Then just follow the text-based installation. Just tested, Braid runs fine under Mageia 2 x86_64.
