Which tutorials did you read, which steps did you take, what didn't work exactly, which programs did you use, and where there some error messages?
If you don't provide us with enough information, we can't help you properly ;)

So from the beginning. I have a Draytek router with VPN (IPSec + L2TP), and profile without certificates. Only the secret PSK username and password. VPN works with Android and Windows XP without any problems. When trying to connect through kvnpc I am not able to connect. I installed Openswan, IPsec tools, ran the service and displays the error that can not start the ipsec. I need step by step how to connect to the VPN gateway. Thank you in advance for your help.

I know im going to be little help as i use openvpn as ipsec is such a pain to setup.

Openvpn is not a walk in the park either, but openvpn does list the errors in the messages file.

Im guessing as you connect openswan will also list the messages in the messages file or similar.

So as you run what you believe to be the right commands, run ls -lrt in /var/log and see what files are at the bottom, they will be the files being updated last.

Then try tail -f filename and try to start again.

Hopefully if im right it will be the messages file and it will spit out something that gives us or you a cluecwhats not working.

Could be as simple as cant connect or missing key file or secret etc.

As i say im speaking from an openvpn perspective.

Regards peter

Thanks for your help but I gave up, technical support from Draytek said that linux is not supported for VPN. In theory might work, but without any of warranty.
[Please close].

hey dont take any notice of that crap from draytek, all they mean is they are clueless

when it comes to linux, and so do anything to stop you using it.

if the draytek supports ipsec, then it supports ipsec its a standard.

it makes no difference what operating system you use, android is linux, and your using that.

ipsec is done in the kernel and andriod uses a very similar kernel to mageia1.

run uname -a on your mageia terminal and also check out the version info on your android.

so i would still pursue it. whats in your logs.
