This forum is dedicated to advanced help and support :
Ask here your questions about advanced usage of Mageia. For example you may post here all your questions about network and automated installs, complex server configurations, kernel tuning, creating your own Mageia mirrors, and all tasks likely to be touchy even for skilled users.

Our test machine has installed and run Mageia 1 in all its variety and we have been really happy and unable to fault the software. It has been installed on client machines and servers without issue. However, testing with Mageia 2 has proven to be disappointing from the start. It took us a while to realise that the version of Firefox bundled in Mageia 2 crashes the desktop and toolbars, both in KDE and Gnome. We downloaded Firefox 12 for Mozilla and the problem was resolved. We have also found in the KDE version that dragging the Konquer icon onto the desktop crashes the system. Our preferred desktop is KDE so we continue to test to see if it is stable enough to put out onto our client base. At the moment that will not be happening. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Noone else reported that so far, so this seems a problem with your setup. Does the problem also persist with a new user?
You can also try to run Mageia's firefox in safe mode via
- Code: Select all
firefox -safe-mode
and continue to disable all addons and such.
