Greetings,
M1_x86_64 install loads files then fails at 'Entering step `Bootloader'. running the mkinitrd script fails, and behind F1 I eventually see an FBIOBLANK error.
After a while, see 'AGdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_drawable_real_draw_pixbuf: assertion 1src_x >= 0 && src_x + width <= pixbuf->width failed at /usr/lib/DrakX/mygtk2.pm line 358 (This line number was on the mandriva2010.2 retry - think line number was same for mageia)
I've googled this extensively for mageia and mandriva. Many others have reported this problem but never saw the discussion carried through to any outcome (except someone's 'file a bug').
Can someone shed a little light on this? I can't understand why anything at all seemingly related to x and gdk should have the slightest influence on the ability to install a bootloader! What am I missing?
I've tried re-doing it umpteen times, not formatting the partition next time, or choosing upgrade, but fails at exactly the same point each time. I discovered the bios had some low level protection against writing boot stuff set and turned this off, but didn't help. I fished out mandriva2010.2 and installed it on a second unused partition, with exactly the same result at the same point.
Installation DVDE's are OK, used them without problem on other hardware.
Could really use some ideas/insights! How to get around it?
