This forum is dedicated to advanced help and support :
Ask here your questions about advanced usage of Mageia. For example you may post here all your questions about network and automated installs, complex server configurations, kernel tuning, creating your own Mageia mirrors, and all tasks likely to be touchy even for skilled users.

Ive tried every combination I can imagine in an effort to install subclipse feature to Eclipse IDE from Mageia 1 repository. I can see that the associated files actually end up in seemingly acceptable locations in the directory tree, but when I attempt to change Perspectives to explore SVN repository, that option is not there. Inspection of the Installation Details Button with in Eclipse shows Subclipse as having been installed. But neither the Features nor the Plug In's tabs show Subclipse as being installed. Finally, I have attached the contents of the Configuration tab. I have tried installation both from rpmdrake and from the command line as root.So far all attempts have failed to provide a working SVN client within Eclipse. Can someone shed some light on what I might be doing wrong?

for what it's worth, I tried the same thing with Ubuntu 11.10 and the install went fairly smoothly. In the case of Ubuntu, it was necessary to install Subclipse from the tigris site while the necessary java abstraction layer had to be separately installed and its path manually added to eclipse.conf.

Hi Bjorn2in!
Please don't post the same topic multiple times. It makes it hard to help you when the conversation is repeated or split over different sections of the forum! One post is enough per topic!
This is not a general, basic problem, so this is a good section to post it! Hopefully someone with Eclipse expertise will be able to help you!
(For now I'm editing and locking your duplicate post to stop people replying to it there. I'll add a link in it pointing to this post until admin can remove it!)

I will advice you to download eclipse from the eclipse website and to forget about mageia version of eclipse. It doesn't integrate well all plugin and i always get plenty of bugs with it.
To run eclipse, you just have to unzip a folder, open it, and double click on eclipse executable.
