I just switched from debian based distros to mageia 1 and I am a bit lost. I want to install kernel 3.1 for my wireless card to work properly but I cannot find anything in the repositories. I added the full set using the add media option and there is nothing. I must be overlooking something. Please help.

Mageia 1 starts with kernel 2.6.38.7 and stays at 2.6.38.x. Cauldron ( Mageia 2 )
is presently using kernel 3.1.6.x and changing constantly but likely to stay
in 3.1 something.

There is currently no kernel 3.x for Mageia 1. What wireless adapter would that be, maybe driver support was already backported or is available as standalone driver? Please show the output of
Code: Select all
lspcidrake -v | grep NET
