Gdb tells me:

"Missing debug package(s), you should install: glibc-debug-2.12.1-11.2.mga1.x86_64"

Yet there appears to be no such package. Can anybody cast any light on this?

As the name suggests it's in the debug repository which by default is not enabled.
core/debug/updates/glibc-debug-2.12.1-11.2.mga1.x86_64

Oops! Blush... Not enabled on this machine. Thanks for not shouting.
