Docker image for Mageia 9? -- work in progress

Dear Mageia folk

Will there be a docker image for Mageia 9, or is there one already?

I ask because I've just (at last) installed Mageia 9 on my laptop, and it's all beautiful, but it won't run NoteCase Pro https://notecasepro.com/ -- which I really rely on. I emailed the creator Miroslav with the error messages I found, asking about a version for Mageia 9, and he replied that he'd love to create a version of NoteCase for Mageia 9, but there doesn't seem to be a Docker image for it.

He's been watching https://hub.docker.com/_/mageia, where the latest version is Mageia 8.
Is there another place to look?

For interest, the problem I found is that the Mageia-8 version of NoteCase uses OPENSSL_1_1_0, but Mageia 9 has moved on to version 3. Since I have so much information stored in my existing notecases, the thought of doing without NoteCase makes me hesitate to install Mageia 9 on my main home machine...now that I finally have time to do this, during the summer holidays (here down under).

Please forgive if this is the wrong place to ask. Thank you for reading

Hi there, there's no need for a docker image, he could also use Opensuse BuildService or something like Koji which is used by Fedora/RHEL to create those packages, even for other distros.
Apart from that, the OpenSSL issue would also affect other current distros which all don't use a deprecated OpenSSL anymore.

Sidenote, some of the RPM packages he offers for download seem to be broken. After downloading the latest Fedora, Mageia and Opensuse packages, only the Opensuse one seems to be a proper RPM, the others are only recognised as data / "application/octet-stream; charset=binary"

On the original topic, this seems still work in progress: https://github.com/juanluisbaptiste/doc ... /issues/32

For a temporary solution you can in Mageia 9 install Mageia 8 in a virtual machine, i.e https://wiki.mageia.org/en/VirtualBox

Doktor and Morgano, many thanks for that useful information. I'll see about the workaround, and I'll pass on your suggestions.

Kind regards, Moray
