kdesu , does nt work ?

I try to install this service menu :
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ro ... tent=48411 but i cant make it work and i think the problem is that the kdesu doesnt runs
I try to execute /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kdesu but nothing happens

Did you have kdebase4-runtime installed ?

In a konsole I have typed
- Code: Select all
/usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu dolphin
And it promps a kde dialog asking for admin privileges

it works for me too ....
So it is nt this the problem with the root actions service menu. I will try to investigate it better

There has been quite some discussion on this issue in another thread - but has not been very conclusive.
I have had the same problem, but not 100% reproducibly. My impression is that there is an element of "history" (success of kdesu dolphin depending on what I had done earlier in the session) - probably related to dbus. But I never managed to get sufficient and coherent evidence to understand what is really going on.
