Someone mentioned to disable the circles app, see the linked github issue.

Our Op already told he sucessfully have disabled circles app.

But for them who need it, i spotted another tip there:
increase the buffer size of mysql in the /etc/mysql/my.cnf, something like:

[mysqld]
sort_buffer_size=256k

For some it worked, for some not.
I guess depending on number of users etc.
In the bug https://github.com/nextcloud/circles/issues/789 people had success with 2M size:
Setting it to 2M fixed the error (2M now seems to be the MariaDB default).

@Dr. Yes, I have disable circles and it worked.

@Morgano, Thanks: I originally set it as you've shown, but that didn't work. But that's when I then disabled the circles app.

If I set it to 2m, what is the correct syntax for that? 2M, or 2000k ? or other.

Installed task-lamp-php from command... installed nextcloud from their website....
Went through the expected drama of having my webpage outside of /var/www/html (its on a separate data partition)..
Done the setup page...GB whatsapp

The hit mysql memory issues.... ended up disabling the 'circles' app.
Now my nextcloud is up and functional.

No sure what to do about the mysql issues: I see some centos tutorials talk about installing REDIS, but I'm not sure if that applies to mageia or not?

Review Installed Apps : Some Nextcloud apps can consume a significant amount of memory. If you've disabled the 'circles' app and resolved your issues, it's possible that other apps may also contribute to high memory usage. Review the installed apps and consider disabling or removing those that are not essential.
