[SOLVED] HELP! Unable log to desktop after nvidia driver

Hi there,
I'm in big trouble! I wanted to install nvidia geforce driver (on my Mageia 8 machine, regularly updated, having a Gigabyte motherboard, and an AMD Ryzen processor), to get more features, but now I'm unable to log into any desktop environment or window manager.

Furthermore, on booting I get two errors:
  • uvcvideo: failure to get info
  • failure to start: Loading legacy module

I managed to un-install all nvidia related rpm's, and launched XFdrake to re-adjust the settings, to no avail, with as well as without those nvidia rpm's.

What should I do?! Is there an rpm that I should remove, too?! Is there a manual thing I should do?!

I desperately need your urgent help to regain my machine!!!

And a million thanks in advance for bearing with me...

Deleting Xauthority saved the day, though the initial errors didn't go.
