Installing Wine 32-bit bits and bobs on Mageia KDE 7.1 64

Postby globetrotterdk » Jul 3rd, '20, 19:55

I installed Wine on my Mageia KDE 7.1 system, before realizing that I needed to enable the 32-bit repos, which I have now done. Having updated the repositories, I still don't know how to install the necessary 32-bit libs that are necessary for using 32-bit Win apps in Wine.

Best remove all wine packages you have installed (probably wine and wine64) and then install wine again. But before please post the output of
Code: Select all
rpm -qa|grep -i wine
urpmq --list-media active --list-url

I'd suggest to disable the following repositories:

Nonfree Backports
Core 32bit Updates Testing
Nonfree 32bit Updates Testing
Tainted 32bit Updates Testing

Afterwards, remove all wine packages as follows, then install wine again:
Code: Select all
urpme wine64-gecko q4wine wine64 wine-mono
urpmi wine

Cheers, that seems to have solved the issue, but I have noted that PlayonLinux apparently can't be used with the 32-bit version of Wine. Not a biggie, but it would have been nice to use the bottle managing interface of PlayonLinux.
