Packages : "datanucleus"

Hello,

I noticed that MGA7 now includes various RPMs for "datanucleus".
While I am positive about your inclusion of this software (I write it and have done since 2003, it's written in Java, all Apache licensed), I query why version 3.x was chosen for inclusion.
Version 3.2 is from 2013, for Java JRE 1.6+. The current version is v5.2 for Java JRE 1.8+.

The MGA packaging was done by "guillomovitch". Anybody care to comment?

I don't really know the reason, but if I had to guess it'd say it's either just what Fedora has or that version 3.2 is what most Hadoop distributions have been using until recently (no idea why, I know Cloudera moved to version 4 only with CDH6).

If you don't get many replies here, you might want to try asking directly to the Mageia Development mailing list (dev@ml.mageia.org)

Thanks for your reply.

Ok. FWIW The only versions currently supported by the developer(s) of that software (i.e me, and one or two others) are v5.1 and v5.2.

I tried going to https://ml.mageia.org/l/info/dev and subscribing to the mailing list, entering email address and clicking confirm. Sadly it said

AUTHORIZATION REJECT (subscribe) you are not allowed to perform this action.

I think you need to log in using your Mageia identity first, as described in https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mailing_lists#Subscribing.
