[SOLVED] Rosegarden Audio Playback Problems

Hi there,
My audio setup is working just fine, but I recently tried using Rosegarden to record audio. Recording is fine, but... Playing what has been recorded is not happening at all, though the same file can be played in Audacity (by double-clicking the audio segment, to edit the fine in-place). JACK is working just fine, and other programmes are able to use it with no problems. That's exactly what is puzzling me why Rosegarden is not playing back the recorded audio.

I'd really appreciate any insight from anyone who had encountered this and got to remedy the situation.

Thanks in advance.

Just to be sure, have you checked in Jack connections that Rosegarden sends audio to the sound card?

JACK's connections' window states that everything's fine!!! I even tried to manually connect individual R / L channels to system playback, to no avail. What's really bothering me, though, is that Rosegarden's Audio Mixer does not show any activity AT ALL!!!! I mean, it's as if no file is loaded (or recorded in the first place).

There's something else, I have no idea if it has anything to do with my stated problem: The recorded file seems to be lost to Rosegarden each and every time the project file is loaded!!! Every single time, I have to "Locate" that recorded file for the programme to show it on the specified track. Could there be any plausible reason the programme is behaving as if it cannot read the file's content although it shows its graph???!!!

So, what happened was this:
The name of the .rg file was in Arabic, so the name of the audio file contained the original file's name, in Arabic of course. Apparently, Rosegarden could not handle names in all UTF-8 languages!!! When I tried to rename all concerned files to be in English, everything worked just fine!!!

It's a very strange situation, to say the least...

I'm glad you found a way to get it working. It sounds like a bug in Rosegarden.
