(SOLVED) File Association SystemSettings

Postby saptech » Jun 25th, '17, 19:12

Every time I double click a text file in Dolphin, it opens in LO Writer. When I go in SystemSettings -> Applications to select text and kwrite, the 'Apply' button is greyed out. How can I change it or why is the Apply button greyed out, it doesn't seem to want to change to my choices.
I am running Plasma5 & Mga6

I am able to change it with Mate's Caja file manager under Plasma5.

Works here with Mageia 6 and Plasma5. I changed the preference order under File Associations -> Known Types -> plain, added and removed a pattern *.log. The Apply button is active with every change.

I finally got it working. I had to go through extra steps for the Apply button take effect. After choosing plain text, then I went into Edit and highlight Kwrite, that is when the Apply button was available to click. Weird way to get it to work.
