[solved] install package excluding 1 dependency

Postby jimg » Feb 4th, '17, 04:19

I'd like to install lilypond. It requires lilypond-doc, the lilypond documentation. lilypond-doc is nearly 1 GB and contains no documentation that isn't available online. (Last I checked it consists of .dvi files, which could easily be converted to much smaller .ps or .pdf files.) This dwarfs lilypond in size by a wide margin.

What's the cleanest way to install lilypond while excluding lilypond-doc?

And while I'm at it, how can I recommend that the lilypond package not require lilypond-doc, or that lilypond-doc use .pdf files? It's not really a bug, but....

Many thanks!

Well, it does not require those.
