[SOLVED] GKrellm weather plugin not working

Postby leon244 » Jan 23rd, '17, 22:10

I noticed that my Gkrellm Weather plugin was not working. It was related to the closure by NOAA of the website from which GKrellWeather got the weather information.
In searching for an answer I found https://www.reddit.com/r/gnu/comments/56wuqb/ann_dropin_replacement_for_grabweather/ NOAA had terminated the old site. The problem lay in the script GrabWeather which is in /usr/share/gkrellm2/scripts (at least for me it is there).
I found this site https://www.darioniedermann.it/sw/grabweather.php from which a new GrabWeather can be downloaded and after making it can be installed over the old one. Then close GKrellm and reopen it. This fixed my problem. I am using Mageia 5, and GkrellM 2.3.5 and GKrellWeather 2.0.8 on an x86_64 platform with 4.4.39-desktop-1.mga5 kernel.
Good luck.
