Mageia on AWS EC2 - HVM

Postby mailedfist » Nov 16th, '16, 12:14

Hi Folks.

I know that Glen Ogilvie (nelg) kindly made available EC2 AMIs for Mageia 2, 3, and 4 but these are PV (para-virtual). As HVM is now the preferred AMI type, I wondered whether anyone has had any success creating an HVM AMI with Mageia 5? If not, I'll continue to try and do so myself but it would be good to know if anyone else would be interested in using it when (if!) I succeed.
Mandrake->Mandriva->Mageia starting in 2003. I really dislike another well-known distro starting with U.

Have you already tried asking on the mailing lists? There are much more people of the relevant target audience reading there compared to here in the forums.

Thank you, and apologies for the late response (I've been clobbered by a seasonal virus of the type that attacks humans rather than computers!).

I'm pursing a slight tangent of a Mageia chroot in an Amazon Linux image at the moment for this use case but will probably come back to wanting a full Mageia image later. Provided I remember, I'll then post results in this thread.
