Two problems while in FireFox

I have two problems in FireFox I do not experience on any other system I have with FireFox.
1) I can scroll with the mouse wheel down a page with no problem, but scroll up goes back one or more pages
2) playing podcasts, the playing will abruptly stop and reset to play again, but will not play. Must reload the podcast in order to get it playing again and adjust to slider as best I can to where it stopped.
I don't think this is a FireFox issue, but system related. Any ideas how to correct these issues would be appreciated.

Scrolling works here normally. Which desktop environment are you using? KDE, GNOME or something else?
Those podcasts, which format are they in, or do you have an example link for us to try to reproduce the problem?

I am running the KDE interface, all updates applied. One such podcast I have had this problem on is LinuxBasix.com in Ogg format. Installed Chrome browser and no scrolling problem. Checking out the podcast for other problem.
