[SOLVED] Kernel update fail... or?

OK. This might not be the most professional ask for help but here it goes:

So today I was trying to install the updates (most seemed to be QT related) and... well this happened:

Naturally the i586 package wont install (not the right system). And I'm so not sure what got already installed. I'm scared.

Hi malitia,

Indeed this i586 kernel-desktop-4.1.15-2.mga5 is not what you would need as the rest of your system is x86_64 (64-bit). The above issue may happen if somehow your mirror is out of sync in the Core Updates media. I would advise you to wait a bit, make sure the media are up to date and then try again.

If it still proposes to install the i586 kernel, then there might be something in your currently installed packages that misleads MageiaUpdate, e.g. if you had the i586 version of kernel-desktop-latest installed by mistake. If so, please post the output of "rpm -qa kernel" and "uname -r" so that we can try to debug what might be going wrong.

The same happened to me with the update earlier today and I didnt install the updates.
However, I checked now for the updates and the i586 kernel packages do not appear on my x86_64 system.
I assume now it is fixed.

Many thanks to the packgers!

I checked the settings (seemed to be everything right with them) and waited some... and there was the right kernel version.

I also already rebooted so in my system it works as intended.

Thank you. :)

(Generally speaking the only i586 packages on my install are stuff needed by wine for backwards compatibility... trying to make old windows software work on Linux is "fun". :/)
