Later, it seems you have problem in accessing to /home,
so X cannot start as user (cannot write the /home/user/.auth file)
but X can start from user root, as user root has the home in /root and you have it
in your picture i can see the home of the root user, which is /root.
I doubt you have /home/user folder
No, I don´t.
- Code: Select all
[root@localhost Documents]# ll /home
total 0
[root@localhost Documents]#
And when booting, it goes until the 5 dots appear above the cauldron(?) on the screen image in front of the word mageia.
This is my /var/log/messages.
In the third line during a boot, there is an error line:
Aug 11 18:55:37 localhost systemd[1]: Failed to load environment files: No such file or directory
Aug 11 18:55:37 localhost systemd[1]: lm_sensors.service failed to run 'start' task: No such file or directory
So this too is ćos of the /home directory not being there?
But there has been no change in /etc/fstab file.
- Code: Select all
[root@localhost Documents]# ll /etc/fstab*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 376 Aug 9 08:55 /etc/fstab
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 335 Jul 21 20:49 /etc/fstab~
Both of these fstab file entries are in above posts.posting.php?mode=reply&f=8&t=3228#pr24185 & posting.php?mode=reply&f=8&t=3228#pr24181
