[SOLVED] "Copilot" key - remapping back to RightCtrl

Postby pmr » May 22nd, '24, 09:19

Since several months Microsoft forces manufacturers to replace RightCtrl key with a "Copilot" one (AI panel launch) and devices which do not have the RightCtrl key at all start to emerge on the market.

Does any solution exist that allows for a "Copilot" key remapping back to RightCtrl?
The key generates originally not a single code but a sequence/shortcut LeftMeta-LeftShift-F23.

You can take a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions ... o_control/
Also depends on whether you use a classic X session or wayland.

THX, but I have read it already before - there is no a really usable and universal solution for Linux there; therefore was my question.

Is this useful? Or not malware, or not up to the job?

https://github.com/rvaiya/keyd

/etc/keyd/default.conf:
Code: Select all
[ids]

*

[main]
leftmeta+leftshift = rightcontrol
rightshift = rightshift

Code: Select all
make
make install
systemctl enable keyd
systemctl start keyd

Seems to work (with the exception of LeftShift-Ctrl, but this is a minor issue)
