[SOLVED] UEFI + EFI + recovery partition deleted

Postby vladmolotov » May 24th, '16, 00:22

Guys,
This time I have to ask for help as I'm over my head!
Short version (I haven't sleept for 2 days): I've tried to make a toshiba C50 to "work". It had windows 10, then changed (reinstalled with USB) to 8.1 and this afternoon thought would be nice to have also mageia. Unfortunately during partitioning process I've deleted UEFI , EFI, recovery partitions of win, etc and started to format these. During this operation, power failure (cable plug removed). Restarted all the install process (partitions mentioned before, were deleted) created swap, home, root -> finished installation. When starting mageia 5 I arrive up to : "wecome to emergency mode!..."
Inside the logs:
EXT4-fs (sda5) bad geometry: block count .(here is a nr). exceeds size of device ...
home.mount mount exited, code=exited status=32
fail to mount /home ....
......
fsck failed with error code 4
....
bluetooth: loading patch file failed
....
failed to start load legacy module configuration
...
dependecy failed for local file systems
.....
dependency failed for relabel all filesystems, if neccesary
....
dependency failed for mark the need to relabel after reboot.
...

Now... tried 2 time to re-install and have the same errors so...Help is really appreciated!
Thanks

Multi step process required.

1. download and burn either x86-64 Mageia5 live .iso or gparted.
2. boot to live Mageia or gparted.
3. use partition manager / gparted to create GPT table and make up partitions as required. eg, /boot/EFI, /, /home/, /mnt/windows, etc....reboot
4. (optional) re-install Window 8
5. re-install Mageia.

Thank's! Will do that and come back with the results.
Managed to use the live iso to make some partitions (/ , /boot, /home) and with these I arrived to install Mageia 5 from the live iso.
Later on I will come back to this, as I'll try to put also win 7 (probably) and then again Mageia.
(all this because of a slow win and a failure of cd-drive, which may be due to a physical malfunction  ).
