[SOLVED] KDE Plasma panel freakish behaviour

Postby dkeith » Oct 10th, '13, 18:06

Ok with all of the other things broken, some are getting fixed/reconfigured. Weird one: I've got KDE Plasma as a desktop with Compiz Fusion as my 3D. However when I push the 'cashew' button on the panel to change settings, I get about 8 instances of the config panel stacked one on top of the other.

Likewise if I set the panel to 'autohide', then run the mouse to the bottom of the screen, the panel will pop up but I'll get about 10 panels stacked on top of each other.

Further, if I open up the settings for the panel by pushing the cashew button, then exit the settings, the tool bar/configuration panel that sits on top of the panel in config mode never clears. If I edit the panel more than once, each time I'll get a new tool bar sitting on top of any other tool bars that haven't cleared, and they persist after I leave config mode.

I wonder if this could have something to do with one of the compiz settings? Like one that maybe I should turn off?

Really weird...

Thanks

Ok, turned off Compiz Fusion once again, which fixes the odd panel behaviour. Added a 'Task Manager' widget, which gives me the mouseover active application sessions display. Turned on KDE Enhanced Desktop settings, which provides sufficient graphical features for my work.
