Backuppc on Mageia 3

Postby DaveInFL » Sep 8th, '13, 01:33

All,

In a bit of a dilema :( Had some hard disc melt downs and went ahead and insalled Mageia 3....which looks pretty nice :) I then installed backuppc but I am having a hard time getting any hosts to show. I've modified the hosts file and have been able to mount an old backup on /var/lib/backuppc, but still no hosts showing. I thought (maybe I am way off) that by putting a couple of entries into the host file in /etc/backuppc that they would at least show up, and with having my old backup mounted with the host specific config.pl file that I'd be good to go. Obviously that's not happening. So, what am I missing here?

Any help would be much apprecaited.

going by the number of replies i would say, you have posted this expecting there to be loads of backuppc users.

clearly there are not.

That may indicate that , its not popular .

personally i cant find anything that backs up my PC completely more than clonezilla.

there is of course the well known leader in open source backup as amanda, but frankly that's a bit over the top for a single PC

For your issue with backuppc, did you take a look at the existing threads about it?
